A Show by the Lake - Playing During the Summer of COVID

With all 2020 performances having been cancelled, the band was itching for the next opportunity to set up our gear and shake the rust off. By mid summer, it was clear that events wouldn’t be rescheduled any time soon, and we would need to get creative if we wanted a chance to play.

We decided to set a date to meet up at a family cottage on Steenburg Lake, ON, and let the cottage-goers know. The turnout of boaters was amazing and it ended up being the perfect day to be performing outside.

A big thank you to everyone who came out - we hope you all had as much fun as we did!

Knights of Columbus, Oakville - British/Indian Fusion Dinner/Dance

From snapd Oakville:

“The British-India Fusion Dinner Dance, a fundraising event hosted by the Knights of Columbus Marian Council, was a huge success. It was an exciting evening of 1960’s British invasion music combined with a taste of India. Guests enjoyed a fabulous Indian dinner buffet, catered by Royal Cumin, and danced the night away to 60’s British rock/pop classics performed by The British Invasion tribute band. To add to the fun, many of the guests took a trip down memory lane and dressed in 60’s fashions! A special presentation was made to Ralph Robertson, long time Town Councillor for Ward 1…”

The British Invasion in Bermuda!

head-horseshoe-bay.jpg

We had a real blast bringing our British Invasion music to Bermuda in March, playing at the Canadian Construction Association’s annual conference. It turned out to be a busy few days and even more beautiful than we expected - we’d all go back in a second!

It was a fun gig to play for a mixed CCA audience that was ready to party. Our good friend, Ben Payne (Canadian expat, now Bermudian musician) was able to sit in on a few tunes with us, and did a fantastic job. Everybody had an awesome time – musicians included!

Dark clouds and rain set in the following day and got in the way of our plans to enjoy some warm sunny rays on those perfect Bermuda beaches. We decided to make the most of it and took the local bus into the capital city, Hamilton. We knew that John Lennon spent the summer of 1980 in Bermuda, relaxing and composing what were to become the songs on his final album.

Many thanks go to all the friendly locals who managed to direct us over to the Botanical Gardens, where we found “Double Fantasy”, a sculpture to commemorate John Lennon’s time on the island. We knew there was a reason we came to Bermuda!

A huge thanks to the CCA for the opportunity to entertain them in paradise. We had a blast and can’t wait to go back!
